Dr. Rebecca Hawkins, President of Columbia State, has announced her intent to retire at the end of December, after 11 years of service. Reflecting on her presidency, Dr. Hawkins stated, "I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve as Columbia State’s president for an exciting 11 years of growth and change. I have enjoyed the support of an exceptionally talented and committed faculty and staff, and from community friends and leaders."

Lady Chargers softball coach Johnny Littrell was named 2007 TJCCAA Softball Co-coach of the Year and the Coach of the Year for the Region VII Western Division. Players Kaneeka Lyons, Brandi Gillaspie, Royesha Goodman, Megan Hosford, Nikki Osborne and Alicia Riner were named to division and all-tournament softball teams. The Lady Chargers were the 2007 Western Division First Place Team.
