OCTOBER 2008 MEDIA ARCHIVES | COLUMBIA STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Photographers Andy Currie and David Andrews will exhibit selected images from their travels in India, Africa, and Indonesia during October in the Pryor Art Gallery. Each exhibitor has traveled extensively in the areas that they have photographed and have become enamored with the people as well as the places. Complementing this imagery are ceramics by Timothy Weber, a potter from Smithville, Tennessee. His pottery is often a combination of media and methods, making each a unique expression.

Join us for an evening of Big Band music with John Blount and the John Blount – Dave Tucker Big Band on Thursday, October 30 at 7 p.m. in the Cherry Theater. Blount, a Columbia native and former U.S. Navy Band Commodores trumpeter, has played all over the U.S. and Europe in venues including the JFK Center in Washington and the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore. To purchase tickets, call (931) 540-2879. The 2008-2009 Performance Series is made possible by our sponsors, First Farmers and Merchants Bank, General Motors Spring Hill Manufacturing, and the Columbia State Foundation.
